On Saturday 28 September 2013, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Hong Kong held the “Thai University Students Seminar 2013” for Thai students pursuing their studies at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at universities in Hong Kong, followed by a dinner party at Crystal Thai Restaurant. The seminar was chaired by Mr. Chakri Srichawana, the Consul-General, and participated by 35 Thai students from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. It reached the goal of creating closer relations between the Consulate-General and Thai university students. The most important outcome of the seminar was the agreement among these university students to set up the Thai University Students Society as a networking centre for Thai students in Hong Kong.
