On 28 September 2013, the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Dubai, organized special lecture on Thai cuisine for the students of the Culture and Society (Thai Studies) class, University of Dubai. The Thai cuisine specialist, Mr. Poonsak Sumonratanakul, demonstrated the preparation and cooking of 2 popular Thai dishes including Tom Yum Goong (Spicy shrimp soup) and Yum Nua (Beef salad) for the students.
After the cooking demonstration, the students had a chance to taste a variety of the exotic Thai dishes including soup, salad, stir fried and curry that were prepared especially for the lesson.
The special lecture on Thai cuisine was organized as a part of the curriculum under the Culture and Society (Thai Studies) course with the aim to illustrate the arts of Thai cooking and introduce the students to the taste of Thailand.
