On 24 September 2013, the Royal Thai Embassy has organized “Thai Food Tasting”, an event to promote Thai food and ingredients in Morocco at the new Mai Thai Restaurant in Casablanca. The event was attended by some important food importers, high-profile chefs and members of the press. Moreover to the authentic Thai lunch, all attendees had an opportunity to try out some of Thailand’s famous sauces such as sweet chili sauce, sukiyaki sauce and hot chili sauce which can spice up every meal into an adventure of flavor.
Hopefully after the event, Moroccan will know more about Thai food and there will be more Thai ingredients in the Moroccan market.
Thai food which has become famous around the world thanks to it’s exciting and exotic flavours, is set to hit Moroccan supermarket shelves soon as the Royal Thai Embassy and the Thai Honorary Cosulate General are teaming up to promote popular Thai food and ingredients here.
In addition to Thai jasmine rice, chili sauce and some other sauces which are already available in Morocco, the Thai ingredients that are set to be available in Morocco include instant noodles and various spicy dipping sauces that will help to spice up your everyday meals.
“We have been promoting Thai food and ingredients to Moroccan Market for quite a while through various activities, and received very good feed back. Even though Thai food and Moroccan food are very different, I am sure that there are ways to integrate them together. Moreover, I hope that Moroccans will learn more about Thailand through our food. ” said H.E. Mrs. Kundalee Prachimdhit, Ambassador of Thailand to Morocco.
