On 9 December 2013, the TAT Office in Moscow organized the “Thailand Tourism Update” at Ararat Park Hyatt. The aim of which is to open dialogue with Russian tour operators so as to further promote tourism in Thailand. In this event, Dr. Itti Ditbanjong, Ambassador of Thailand, was invited to give an opening remarks, together with Mrs.Juthaporn Rerngronasa, Deputy Governor for International Marketing of the TAT. Other guests from the Thai side, including Mr. Manan Boonyachai, General Manager of Thai Airways International, Moscow Office, and diplomats of the Royal Thai Embassy, were also invited.
The Ambassador assured all representatives from leading tour agencies that Thai tourism-related agencies stand ready to provide facilitation and safety for tourists in any circumstances and that the safety of and protection for tourists are placed as top priorities of the Royal Thai government. He also expressed his thanks for the cooperation of Russian tour operators which contributed to the increase of Russian tourists to Thailand, already reaching 1.3 million from January-October 2013.
