The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai hosted a Thai Community gathering on 7 December 2013 at the Consulate-General and a Reception on 8 December 2013 at the Al Rashidiya Ballroom, Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai, to celebrate the  Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 86th Birthday Anniversary and the Thai National Day.  

     On 7 December 2013, the Thai community in Dubai and the nearby Emirates gathered at the Consulate-General to celebrate the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 86th Birthday Anniversary.  The activities of the event included merit making, signing the well-wishing book for His Majesty the King, bonding activities/games for fathers and children and cultural performance by the students and teacher of the Consulate-General's weekend Thai language school.  At 18.09  hrs, 

Mr. Thosaporn Moonlasartsathorn, Consul-General of Thailand and spouse led the candlelight vigil to pay homage to His Majesty the King. 

     On 8 December 2013, the Consulate-General hosted a reception to celebrate His Majesty the King’s Birthday Anniversary and the National Day of Thailand at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel. The event was attended by H.E. Abdul Rahman Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, as the Guest of Honour, along with  distinguished guests including dignitaries from the Government authorities of Dubai and the Northern Emirates, members of the diplomatic corps, private sector, representatives from Team Thailand and the Thai Community, as well as the local media.  

On this occasion, the Consulate-General also displayed an exhibition board on His Majesty’s Royal Activities, as well as organized a traditional Thai music band to perform live classical Thai music for the invited guests.
