In the evening of 29 January 2014, Consul-General Jackrid Kanjanasoon and Dr. Maroning Salaeming, Deputy Secretary General of the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre, presided over the opening ceremony of Thai Festival 2014 in Terengganu, an event enthusiastically attended by a huge crowd of local visitors. 

     The festival is held at Dataran Shahbandar, Kuala Terengganu between 28 January – 3 February 2014, consisting of 80 booths, most of which are food products.  Dishes exceptionally popular among Malaysians include Thai Nasi Kerabu, Som Tam (papaya salad) and sticky rice with mango.

     Thai Festival 2014 will also be held in Kelantan during 27 February – 6 March 2014 (opening ceremony on 28 February) at Dataran Muhammadi, Kota Bharu (same venue where the festival was held in 2013).  All are cordially invited to visit the festival to shop for souvenirs and taste authentic Thai food.
