200 Buddha Statues from Thailand distributed to Sri Lankan Temples in the rural area

     On 22 February 2014, H.E. Mr. Nopporn Adchariyavanich, Thai Ambassador to Sri Lanka attended the ceremony on the donation of 200 Buddha statues from Thailand to temples in the rural area in Sri Lankan at Gangarama Temple, Peliyagoda.

     The Buddha statues were donated to Sri Lanka by Venerable Phra Kru Sophitboonyathorn, Chief Incumbent of Yai Rom Temple, Bangkok and Thai Buddhist devotees in order to strengthen the relations between Thai and Sri Lankan Buddhists. The donated Buddha images would be distributed to temples in the rural area in Sri Lanka by Venerable Wimalagnana, Chief Incumbent of Gangarama Temple, Peliyagoda.
