Thai Ambassador encourages the empowerment of the Thai community in Kiruna

On 15 February 2014 H.E. Ambassador Somchai Charanasomboon together with his wife, Mrs. Viyada Charanasomboon, met about 70 Thai people in Kiruna, city of the north of Sweden.
H.E. Ambassador Somchai told the Thai community that it was his pleasure to visit the Thai community in Kiruna once again. This time he was accompanied by a diplomat and 2 Embassy’s staff who will answer all questions of consular matter. H.E. Ambassador also encouraged the Thai community to register for the right to vote for the coming overseas election.
Moreover, H.E. Ambassador proposed to the Thai community to form a club or association in order to do activities and help one another in different circumstances. Cooperation with the Kiruna local authority is also an important aspect in order to gain respectful attitude from the Swedish people. H.E. Ambassador said that the Embassy will stand ready to help and cooperate with the Thai community in Kiruna. The Thai community in Kiruna expressed its appreciation to H.E. Ambassador for his visit and advice and agreed to form an association as suggested.
