On 3 March 2014, H.E. Mr. Peerasak Chantavarin, Ambassador of Thailand to Egypt presided over the 11th Mini Soccer Cup, organized by the Thai Students’ Association in Cairo during 1 – 10 March 2014 at the Markas Shabab Madina Nasr Hayy Zadiz. Also, Police Colonel Tawee Sodsong, Secretary General of the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SPBC) and his delegation attended the event. The tournament, co-sponsored by the Royal Thai Embassy in Cairo and the SPBC, brought together 40 soccer teams to compete for the Championship and attracted around 500 spectators per day.

     In his opening remarks, the Ambassador points out the significance of sport in enhancing harmony and unity as well as strengthening community spirit. The Ambassador also stressed the Royal Thai Embassy's readiness to continue supporting their activities, including sport, recreation and academic programs.
