The cultural shows took place at the following venues:
1) Dasma Theatre, on 4 March 2014: Over 300 participants came from the diplomatic corps and different Kuwaiti governmental agencies, the media, the general public, and the Thai community in Kuwait. H.E. Mr. Ali Al-Yoha, Secretary-General of Kuwait’s National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters graciously presided over the opening ceremony. Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Mejren Al-Roumi, Director-General of the Department of Asia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, also attended the event.
2) National Museum Theatre, on 5 March 2014: The performance was attended by about 250 persons. Most were the local Kuwatis and the media, as well as Thais and foreigners living in Kuwait.
The Thai Cultural Nights were part of the Thai Cultural Roadshow in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, the Royal Thai Embassies in Muscat, Doha and Kuwait, co-organized with the Ministry of Culture of Thailand. Kuwait’s National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters also provided support to the cultural troupe during their stay in Kuwait City, and helped arrange the venues for the performances.
The Thai cultural performances and handicraft demonstrations were well-received by the audience and succeeded in promoting Thailand in Kuwait. This Cultural Roadshow also marked the first visit to Kuwait by a Thai cultural troupe in 10-year time.
