Thai Food Promotion in Colombo, Sri Lanka

     Royal Thai Embassy, Colombo, in association with Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mumbai Office and Cinnamon Grand Hotel Colombo recently organized “Thai Food Promotion” at Cinnamon Grand Hotel. The event was opened on 20 February 2014 by H.E. Mr. Nopporn Adchariyavanich, Thai Ambassador to Sri Lanka. Around 200 people  from the Diplomatic Corps, high-ranking officials, businessmen, media and celebrities in Colombo participated in the opening reception.
     Royal Thai Embassy, Colombo invited two Thai professional chefs from Dusit Thai College, Mr. Ekapol Boonchuaichu and Mr. Satit Muangsomboon, as well as two Thai music teachers, Mr. Suwat Auttagrit and Mr. Veera Phansue, from Art Association for Youth to cook authentic Thai food and to perform traditional Thai music, respectively, at Cinnamon Grand’s Courtyard Restaurant on 20 February- 2 March 2014. The international airfare of 
the chefs and the musicians was kindly sponsored by Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mumbai Office.
     Succeeding in promoting Thai food in Sri Lanka, the Thai Food Promotion was warmly welcomed by the Sri Lankan public .Around 1,000 Thai food enthusiasts in Colombo came to taste the authentic Thai food at the hotel throughout the 10-day event.
