On 18 March 2014, H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam paid a courtesy call to H.E. Mr. Ta Quang Ngoc, President of the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association (VTFA) and the executive committee of VTFA to introduce himself as a newly appointed Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam.
H.E. Mr. Ta Quang Ngoc congratulated H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup on his appointment and for the flourishing bilateral relations between Thailand and Vietnam after both countries have elevated the relations to the level of ‘Strategic Partnership’ last year with a view to enhance all-round relations ranging from people-to-people, trade and investment, education, sports and culture. He also stated that the Thai people with the Vietnamese decent would act as a bridge between Thailand and Vietnam.
H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, in turn, pledged to fully cooperate with VTFA to foster Strategic Partnership especially people-to-people relations. He also reaffirms the constructive roles of the Friendship Associations of the two countries as the main mechanism to intensify people-to-people connectivity for the forthcoming ASEAN Community in 2015. H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup stressed that it’s a longstanding policy of Thailand to ensure the wellbeing of all Thais including Thai people with Vietnamese decent because people connectivity is the foundation of the ‘Strategic Partnership’ between both countries. He also took the opportunity to express appreciation for the active role of VTFA in organizing various useful activities and reassured continued Embassy’s cooperation with VTFA in furthering cordial relations between the peoples of the two countries.
After the courtesy call, H.E. Mr. Ta Quang Ngoc hosted a luncheon in honour of H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, Ambassador of Thailand.
