H.E. Mr. Tomwit Jarnson, Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan, participated in the 26th Cultural Week 2014 during 17-28 March 2014 organized by the International Islamic University, Islamabad. The event provided the opportunity for 30,000 students from more than 40 countries to showcase their cultures through arts, traditional dresses, food, etc. It also reinforced the students in their character building and generated a deeper understanding of different cultures. The Thai students, both males and females, decorated the stalls to promote Thailand and exhibit Thai handicrafts and Thai foods. Series of seminars and competitions in various categories such as sports, Qu’ran recitation, Arabic singing, essay in English were also organized on the sidelines of the event. The Thai female students won the first prize for the best international food competition while the Thai male students won the first and third awards for Qu’ran recitation and Arabic singing respectively.
