     Towards the end of 2013, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai conducted the extension to the successful 2012's youth exchange programme, in which the Consulate-General, together with the Tourism Authority of Thailand in Dubai, organized a trip for 10 students from the University of Dubai to Thailand to participate in the environmental awareness and educational and cultural field trip.  The successful of the programme led to a Culture and Studies - Thai Studies course at the University of Dubai in Fall 2013, where it had received an overwhelming response from the students, with a total enrollment number of 55 students, making it the only subject with the highest number of students during the semester.
     The 2013 programme, dubbed, "The extension project to promote the cooperation in education and culture for youth between Thailand-UAE" was divided into 2 main parts, namely the teaching of Thai culture at the University of Dubai and a 1 week field trip for 10 students with the highest achievement from the course. 
     The teaching at the university, which accounted for 3 credits, started on 31 August 2013 and ended its 15 weeks of class hours on 7 December 2013.  The subject comprised of many aspects of Thailand including politics, economics and the promotion of culture, tradition and language.  The second part of the programme, the cultural field trip for 10 highest achieving students, was conducted on 15 - 22 February 2014 where the students were offered the opportunity to experience Thailand at first hand and participated in various activities including the study on marine life conservation at Samaesan Island, under the supervision of the Royal Thai Army, the cultivation of Thai plants and fruits at Nongnuch Garden and Supattra Land, as well as learning about Thailand through the visits of historical sites such as the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the cultural sites such as the Rose Garden and Siam Niramit.
