On 16 May 2014, the Royal Thai Consulate-General, in collaboration with the Thailand Foundation and the Garden Hotel, Guangzhou, revealed the “Secret to Muay Thai Spirit” in Guangzhou at the hotel lobby. The event was arranged to be coincide with the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou. 

 

               The Thai Consulate-General and the Thailand Foundation proudly presented this unique cultural show that speaks Thailand’s identity, Muay Thai or Thai Boxing.

The performers comprised Thai Fight boxers who travel from Bangkok to show Southern China how the national Thai sport can become the ultimate entertainment. This Muay Thai Roadshow in China started from Beijing and went on to Kunming and Chengdu. Guangzhou was the last stop where the troupe delivers their spectacular showcase of Muay Thai. 

 

The show was a success and received great attention from the public and local media. It walked the audience through the origin of traditional Muay Thai showing how the fighting spirit always begins and ends with respect, what is Muay Chaiya style, how Thai Boxing rises to international fame, and why Muay Thai is simply a great way of exercise for good health.
