On 10 May 2014, Ms. Boosara Kanchanalai, Deputy Consul-General presided over the opening ceremony of ASEAN Badminton Friendly Tournament 2014 at Asian Badminton Training Center, Ersha Island, Guangzhou. The event was organized by the Consulates of ASEAN countries in Guangzhou. There were 60 Badminton players from 7 participating countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines and Thailand. Those players are representatives from ASEAN Consulates and various communities.

     Thai team consists of 16 players who are representatives from Team Thailand in Guangzhou, Thai business and student communities.                      

     Two Thai players won the third place in Women’s Doubles. Other countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and Laos had also won other prizes.  

     This ASEAN Badminton Friendly Tournament is one of the activities which aim to strengthen cordial relationship among ASEAN countries’ community members.
