Creativity of Thai Cuisine in the Czech Republic – The Royal Thai Embassy in Prague presented the ‘Thai Taste by Czech Chefs’, an exotic evening with Thai cuisine on 15 and 16 September 2014 at Klementinum Room, Intercontinental Hotel Prague. Both evenings were specially designed to showcase fine authentic Thai cuisine, jointly prepared by Mr. Chumpol Jangprai, Iron Chef Thailand and Principal of MSC Thai Culinary School, who flew directly from Bangkok for this event, and Mr. Jan Davidek and Mr. Antonin Bradac, Czech chefs who are the winners of the 2nd Thai Culinary World Challenge, a competition for a trophy graciously awarded by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, held in Bangkok in August 2014.
Mr. Jan Hamacek, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament, and spouse and Dr. Hynek Kmonicek, Director of Department of Foreign Affairs of the Office of the President, and spouse, accepted the Embassy’s invitations to attend the dinners on both evenings respectively, together with various representatives from governmental sector and private sector in the Czech Republic, as well as friends of Thailand and Ambassadors in Prague.
The dinner was co-organized by Thailand Commercial Office in Prague, National Food Institute of Thailand, Thailand Chefs Association, Singha Beer, Thai Airways International, Intercontinental Hotel Prague, Czech Chefs Association, Unilever Chefmanship Culinary Center Prague and Knorr Professional Prague.
The dinner was successfully held as one of the celebration activities to commemorate on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Czech Republic, as well as to promote the ‘Thai Kitchen to the World’ policy of the Royal Thai Government and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. Moreover, it was also exactly an outstanding proof that, with the right recipes and ingredients, Thais or foreigners all can cook a great dish of Thai cuisine!
