On 19 September 2014, Mr. Thawat Theerawat, Minister Counsellor of the Royal Thai Embassy in Buenos Aires, welcomed and gave a briefing about Thailand to a delegation comprising of students and professors from Institute of International Relations, Catholic University of Salta (UCASAL), at Thai Ambassador’s residence.

Moreover, he also mentioned about the bilateral relations between Thailand and Argentina and the Embassy’s projects to promote cordial relations between the two countries. “Thailand Corner” is one of those projects that Royal Thai Embassy attaches importance to and continues to carry out every year with an ultimate goal of setting up “Thai Studies” programme in Argentine universities. Last year, the Royal Thai Embassy also inaugurated the “Thailand Corner” at UCASAL which received enthusiastic response from the university. The briefing was followed by Thai snacks tasting which Kanompang Naa Moo (fried bread with minced pork topping) and fried spring roll were introduced to the delegation.

The institute of International Relations, UCASAL arranges a study tour for their students every year to visit Buenos Aires City for one week in order to give opportunities to the students to talk and exchange views with diplomats, Argentine authorities, and international organizations which would provide them wider vision and more information about international affairs.
