The Royal Thai Embassy in Prague was profoundly proud to present the ‘Siam Sinfonietta Concert: A Different Kind of Youth Orchestra’ on 24 September 2014 at Mirror Chapel, Klementinum Complex in Prague, as a part of the cultural celebration series on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Czech Republic.

The Siam Sinfonietta is Thailand’s internationally acclaimed and award-winning youth orchestra, founded by Silpathorn Kittikhun Award Laureate Somtow Sucharitkul who is a world-renowned Thai artist. At the concert, the Siam Sinfonietta was directed by Mr. Somtow and by Thailand’s world famous young conductor, Mr. Trisdee na Patalung who played piano and conducted the orchestra at the same time.

The performance of Thai talented youths, in classical rhythms, for example compositions of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gioachino Rossini, including Antonin Dvorak’s Czech composition, as well as the composition of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, greatly impressed the audiences from various sectors in the Czech Republic, including H.E. Mr. Petr Drulak, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Hynek Kmonicek, Director of Foreign Affairs Department of the Office of the President of the Czech Republic, members of diplomatic corp in Prague and H.E. Mr. Narong Sasithorn, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand who was paying a visit to the CR.  Music is borderless and the Concert also doubtlessly contributed to the friendship of Thai and Czech people.
