On 2 November 2014, H.E. Mr. Prachuab Chaiyasan, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and President of Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association, as a head of the Thai delegation presided over the Offering Ceremony of His Majesty the King’s Kathin Robe to the congregation of monks at the Phuoc Hai Monastery, Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Also present at the ceremony were H.E. Mr. Panyarak  Poolthup, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Miss Panpimon Suwannapongse, Thai Consul-General in Ho Chi Minh City a.i., Mr. Nguyen Van Ngon representative of People's committee of Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu Province, Mr. Ta Quang Ngoc President of Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association, Mrs. Le Thi Tan Tien, Deputy Director of International Relations Department, Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu Province, as well as over 1,000 monks and Buddhists. The auspicious ceremony was carried out by Thich Thien Tam, Representative of Theravada of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The Royal Kathin Robe Offering Ceremony at Phuoc Hai Monastery was a part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs annual project to promote constructive interactions between Thais and Vietnameses through Buddhism. The donation which came from His Majesty the King, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as Thai and Vietnam Buddhists amounted to approximately 1,800,000 Baht.
