On December 3, the Royal Thai Embassy in Lima organized a reception to celebrate the auspicious occassion of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulayadej ‘s 87th birthday anniversary and Thai national day at the J.W. Marriot, Lima.
Ambassador Ruengdej Mahasaranond delivered a speech in honor of His Majesty the King who has tirelessly performed his hard works, contributing to the sustainable development of Thailand as well as the wellbeing of Thai people for more than 6 decades of his reign. Ambassador Mahasaranond gave an overview of Thailand– Peru Bilateral Relations and the bilateral cooperations which have been strengthened in many areas. He emphasized that exchanges of visits in all levels from both public and private sector, especially the visit to Thailand of H.E. President Ollanta Humala of Peru in October 2013, have played a key role in fostering bilateral relations.
Mobile exhibitions and videos about His Majesty the king, the royal initiated development projects, including History Channel documentary on King Bhumibol as well as Thailand ´s culture and tourism were on display. Thai traditional dances were performed by the daughters of Ambassador and officials of the Embassy and the students from Gospevera dance school who participated in the training with Thai dance professors under the project to promote Thai dance in Peru organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in September 2014.
Approximately 300 invited guests, including diplomatic corps, high level officials from public agencies, businessmen, academic professors, press , friends of Thailand as well as Thai people in Lima and Thai AFS exchanged students attended the event. Ambassador Alberto Salas Barahara , Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru participated in the event as the Guest of Honor on behalf of the Foreign Minister of Peru.
