On 5 December 2014, Mr. Thawat Teerawat, Charge d’Affaire of the Royal Thai Embassy in Argentina, hosted a reception on the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty the King at Sala Mermoz, Sofitel Hotel. 

 

            Mr. Thawat Teerawat, Charge d’Affaire of the Royal Thai Embassy in Argentina, hosted a reception on the occasion of the 87th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King at Sala Mermoz, Sofitel Hotel. Mr. Teerawat gave an opening remark expressing sincere thanks to all the guests and emphasizing that Thailand is the first country among ASEAN member countries which established diplomatic relations with Argentina and next year will mark the 60th anniversary of Thai – Argentina diplomatic relations.  Despite the geographical distance between the two countries, Thailand and Argentina have been promoting its ties through exchanges of visit in many levels, as well as bilateral cooperation in various fields.  Theses exchanges and activities have been helping the two nations strengthen and closer its relations.  On this occasion, the Charge d’Affaire invited all the guests including diplomatic corps, Thai community in Argentina, Thai exchange students in Argentina and Uruguay under AFS programme, and representatives from government authorities, private sectors, academic, as well as the local media to sign in a commemorative book for His Majesty the King’s 87th Birthday Anniversary.
