The Young Ambassadors of Virtue Foundation (YAVF) in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ekachai School organised the Indonesian Week as part of the Foundation’s Patron Project.
During the Indonesian Week from 2 – 11 December 2014, about 1800 students had the opportunity to broaden their knowledge about Indonesia and the bilateral relations between Thailand and Indonesia. This event also served to foster cultural ties between the two countries. The students also had the chance to learn Bahasa language, Batik artwork and Aceh regional Saman dance. Whereas, the school has organised art and essay contest on the topic Indonesia – the Country I Know, and held the exhibition on Thai Culture, Relations with Indonesia, and YAVF school projects.
On 11 December 2014, the students welcomed H.E. Lutfi Rauf and Pol.Lt. Arthit Boonyasophat Samut Sakhorn's governor then visited the exhibition organised by students in Bahasa language. The Ambassador also participated in general knowledge quiz, in which all students have shown immense participation with great enthusiasm, and awarded the winners with prizes. H.E. Lutfi Rauf then visited the exhibition organised by students. Most importantly, this event helped to enhance youth preparedness for ASEAN Community 2015 as well as promote friendly relations between the Embassy and the YAVF network school.
