On 28 May 2015 H.E. NoppornAdchariyavanich, Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka paid a courtesy call on HonourableEranWickramaratne, Deputy Minister of Highways and Investment Promotion of Sri Lanka. H.E. Nopporn asked about the investment situation and atmosphere in Sri Lanka. HonourableEran said that Sri Lanka welcomes foreign investment in order to help develop Sri Lanka.  However, the present Sri Lankan government is a temporary government. So, foreign investors wish to see the policy of a new Sri Lankan government which is expected to be formed after the general elections in July this year.  At present, the Sri Lankan government tries to facilitate the implementation of the existing investment projects.  H.E. Nopporn views that Thai investors may consider to invest in Sri Lanka in the fields of agro-industry, tourism, garment, construction and commodity goods.
