1. Thai cultural troupe performed at the Orient Festival in Tallinn, Estonia
On 31 May 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm in cooperation with Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Stockholm, arranged for the Thai cultural troupe from the College of Dramatic Arts (Bunditpatanasilpa) Institute, Ministry of Culture of Thailand, to perform at the Orient Festival which was held at Kadrioru park in Tallinn, Estonia. Over 250 people including Dr. Ingrid Rüütel, wife of Mr. Arnold Rüütel, former Estonian President, attended the event.
Apart from the cultural performances, TAT also took this opportunity to organize a workshop between 30-31 May 2015 to demonstrate and teach Thai arts such as umbrella painting and palm-leafed carp which are Thai handicrafts invented by local wisdom. More than 100 people came and enjoyed the said workshop especially those who came with family.
Besides the activities at the Orient Festival, a traditional Thai dance workshop was conducted on 30 May 2015 at the Department of Choreography, University of Tallinn. There were 25 students participated. The aim was to teach Estonian students the basics of Thai dance as well as to allow for cultural exchange between the two countries.
Aparts from the activities in Tallinn, on 1 June 2015 the Thai Embassy in cooperation with Tallink Silja company arranged the night programme of Thai cultural performances as a special show on the cruise from Tallinn to Stockholm. The passengers around 200 including Estonian, Swedish, and foreigners around joined the said programme.
2. Thai cultural performances to celebrate the 5tth Cycle Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn
On 4 June 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm in cooperation with Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Stockholm organized the Thai cultural performances which was held at Musikaliska Konserthuset to celebrate the 5th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. H.E. Mr. Kiattikhun Chartprasert, Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden hosted a reception whereby around 100 guests from the diplomatic corps, high-ranking representatives from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, businesspeople were well attended.
Once the audiences took seats in the theater, H.E. Ambassador Kiattikhun later delivered welcoming remarks then, the biography and royal duties of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn were shown on the screen to celebrate Her 5th Cycle Birthday Anniversary. The cultural programme is composed of 11 performances from the College of Dramatic Arts (Bunditpatanasilpa) Institute, Ministry of Culture of Thailand, such as Khon or classical masked dance-drama from the Ramakien, from the literature “Ramakien”, Muay Thai, traditional dances from different regions of Thailand, puppet show (an episode from the Ramakien). All of which are performed against the backdrop of Thai traditional music played by members of the cultural trope. Over 400 people both Swedish and Thais were enjoyed and appreciated the country's cultural beauty.
On this occasion, the Royal Thai Embassy also provided a well-wishers’ book for people to express their wishes to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
