Thai Film Week 2015 Festival in Chengdu

            On 24 July 2015, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand in collaboration with Thailand Foundation led a group of representatives from the National Federation of Motion Pictures and Contents Association, a film production company, media and Mr. Chantavit Dhanasevi (Ter), a well-known actor, to attend the opening of “Thai Film Week 2015” festival in Chengdu, China. The festival, organized by the Royal Thai Consulate in Chengdu, was held from 24 – 28 July 2015 at Eying 1958 Cinema which is the oldest cinema theatre in Chengdu. 
 
            The festival is a part of the project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote Thai film and television series abroad. At the opening ceremony, Lieutenant Junior Grade Komate Kamalanavin, Consul-General in Chengdu, highlighted that the Thai Film Week Festival was one of the activities to celebrate the occasion of 40th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China. The Thai films, which portray way of living of Thai people, not only impressed the Chinese public but also created better understanding about Thailand. In addition, this festival would foster closer ties between the two countries at people-to-people level and fortify partnership between Thai and Chinese film industry businesses. 
 
            Six Thai films that were showed during the festival included ATM, Seven Something, Fighting Fish, Suckseed, Hashima Project and Fud Jung To. Moreover, more than 300 fans took this opportunity to meet and greet with their favourite actor, Ter Chantavit, leading actor of ATM, after the opening ceremony.
