On Friday 19 February from 10.00 hrs to 17.00 hrs, the Thai Women’s Club in Abu Dhabi with the support of the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi organized the 6th annual free admission evententitled “Thai Day& Children’s Day 2016” at the courtyard of the Ambassador of Thailand’s residence.MrsViphawanBenniman, Chargé d’ Affaires of the Thai Embassy, presided the opening of the event. 

 

            The purpose of the event is to promote the existing good relations and cooperation among Thai Women’s Club in Abu Dhabi and promote Thai food and products, Thai massage, the art of Thai Boxing as well as promoting goodwill of Thailand and Thai culture in the UAE to mark the 40thAnniversary of Diplomatic relations between Thailand and the UAE.

 

            The theme of the event is “ Thai street food at Thai Day & Children’s day experience it yourself”.The courtyard of the Thai Ambassador’s residence  has been decorated with stalls in Thai style, offering famous authentic Thai food and delicacy from every part of Thailand.

 

            Throughout the afternoon, participants were entertained with diverse Thai cultural dances and performances by young and talented Thai children as well as Thai boxing demonstration and lesson which were the highlight performed on stage. It witnessed about600 participants who attended the event. The proceeds from this event after deducting the costs, the Thai Women’s Club in Abu Dhabi will donate to the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer Foundation for charity purpose.
