On 3 – 19 November 2016, Mr. Manasvi Srisodapol, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Poland, in his capacity as Special Representative of the Chair of the Group of 77 for Climate Change, attended the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP22), the 12th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 12) and other related meetings in Marrakech, Morocco.  During the event, Ambassador Manasvi chaired and coordinated the position of the Group of 77 and China, a group comprising 134 countries from the developing world, represented and delivered statements on behalf of the Group on matters relating to climate change.  During the meeting presided by the Moroccan Presidency, Parties constructively discussed the development of the rule book of the Paris Agreement, which entered into force earlier than expected, with currently 113 countries having ratified the Agreement, and the meeting concluded successful.  The next meeting of the Conference of the Parties will be presided by Fiji and an incoming COP Presidency.  It was also announced by the delegation of Poland at the conclusion of the meeting that Poland is ready to host the COP in 2018.
