On 18 June 2025, Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, chaired the second Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM) in Bangkok. It was the first in-person stand-alone ACD SOM since the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The meeting built on the first ACD SOM Chaired by Thailand on 6 February 2025 in preparation for the ACD High-level Conference on Global Fiscal and Financial Architecture and the 20th ACD Ministerial Meeting scheduled for Thailand to host this year in Bangkok. The Senior Officials discussed important issues relating to the future of ACD and ways to enhance cooperation between Member States. This included the transformation of the ACD into a regional organization and the possibility of hosting the First ACD Ministerial Meeting on Sports. They also discussed the possibility of enhancing cooperation with other organizations, such as the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) on Cooperation in the Fields of Sports and Culture, and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

The ACD, inaugurated in 2002 by Thailand, currently consists of 35 Member States and is a pan-Asia cooperation and policy dialogue forum aiming to promote understanding, mutual trust, and mutual interest among Asian countries, as well as finding common solutions to global challenges. This year, Thailand chairs the ACD under the theme of "Fostering Asia's Sustainable Development and Future through Innovation."
