On 20 May 2026, Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Acting Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, met with Mr. Werapong Prapha, Thai Trade Representative (TTR), to discuss Thailand’s preparations for the ninth round of negotiations on the Thailand - EU Free Trade Agreement (Thailand - EU FTA), and exchanged views on ways to strengthen trade relations and enhance cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
