Ambassador of Thailand to Mexico met with the Secretary of Economy and Labor of the State of Nuevo Leon

On 20 July 2021, Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij Ambassador of Thailand to Mexico met with Mr. Roberto Russildi Montellano, Secretary of Economy and Labor of the State of Nuevo Leon, at the Government Palace of Nuevo Leon. High-ranking officials from investment promotion agency (Invest Monterrey), as well as representatives from the Mexican Business Council for International Trade, Investment and Technology (COMCE NORESTE) also participated in the meeting.
 
In this occasion, the Ambassador was briefed on the economic potentials of Nuevo Leon, which is one the most important states in Mexico in terms of its economic contribution, and a major production base and hub of foreign investment in many sectors, especially the automotive sector, thanks to its strategic location adjacent to the United States and Canada, as well as many leading educational institutions and research centers capable of producing quality workforce.
 
Mr. Roberto Russildi has invited Thai businessmen to invest in Nuevo Leon. In this connection, the Ambassador informed that the Thai private sector under the Thai-Latin American Business Council has expressed interest in investing as well as establishing a distribution center in Nuevo Leon, and has requested the relevant information. It was agreed to hold a virtual meeting between the Thai-Latin American Business Council and Invest Monterrey for both sides to further discuss the cooperation and exchange information.
 
After the meeting, the Ambassador hosted a luncheon to Mr. Andres Franco, COMCE Advisor and other COMCE executives, which provided a good opportunity for both sides to exchange views on ways and means to further promote trade and investment between Thailand and Nuevo Leon.
