On 5 February 2021, H.E. Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the United Mexican States, presented a copy of his Credential Letter to H.E. Mr. Denis Moncada Colindres, Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Nicaragua, through an online system, accrediting him as the Concurrent Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Nicaragua, with residence in Mexico City.

On this occasion, both sides discussed bilateral cooperation issues, such as trade and investment; the appointment of an Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Nicaragua to further strengthen relations between the two countries; education and technical cooperation for sustainable development whereby Thailand is ready to share her experience on community development based on His Majesty King Bhumibol’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) model as well as cooperation in international fora, with a view to strengthening relations between the two countries in all areas. Ambassador Paisan took this opportunity to express a high appreciation for the Government of Nicaragua’s support for Thailand’s candidature (Dr. Vilawan Mangklatanakul) to the International Law Commission (ILC), for the period 2023-2027.
