Ambassador visited CSIRO in Food and Health Sciences Precinct at Coopers Plains, Queensland

On 19 June 2026, H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, together with Ms. Chearanai Tina Field, Honorary Consul of Thailand in Brisbane, and Dr. Waraporn Saelee , Minister Counsellor (Agriculture), visited the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) site located in the Food and Health Sciences Precinct at Coopers Plains, Brisbane, Queensland.

The Ambassador was briefed on the progress of the Thailand - Australia Innovation Food for Sustainability Partnership (IF4S) by Ms. Amelia Fyfield, Director of CSIRO for Southeast Asia (via online platform), and had a discussion with CSIRO Brisbane executives and researchers led by Mr. Bob Barlow, Research Director of the Food Program, on ways to strengthen cooperation in food and agriculture , with potential linkages to enhancing energy transition and promoting sustainability.

The Ambassador was also given a tour of the food pilot plant, including laboratories with modern machinery, and equipment. These facilities are opened and accessible by companies, including small and medium enterprises, for testing and development of food and beverage prototypes before moving into the process of commercial‑scale production.
