On the afternoon of Saturday, January 31, 2026, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chicago, in collaboration with Wat Dhammaram and the Thai community in Chicago and neighboring states, organized a commemorative event titled "United in Loyalty" at the Queen Sirikit Hall, Wat Dhammaram.

Mr. Varapol Chensavasdijai, Acting Consul-General, presided over the ceremony. He paid homage and laid traditional floral offerings (Phan Phum) before the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. In his remarks, he expressed profound condolences and remembered Her Majesty's boundless grace. The ceremony included a minute of silence, followed by a candle-lighting tribute and the singing of the Royal Anthem as a demonstration of loyalty to the Nation, Religion, and Monarchy.

The event featured cultural tributes including:

• Classical Guitar Solo: A performance of the royal composition "Still on My Mind" (Nai Duang Jai Nirun) by Mr. Rujikorn Traikum from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University.

• "Phuen Thai" Dance: A creative performance by teachers and students of Wat Dhammaram’s Performing Arts School. Originally choreographed by the Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, the dance uses fabric as a symbol of the peaceful way of life under the Royal Aegis across all four regions of Thailand.

• Khon Performance (The Battle of Rama and Ravana): Performed by teachers and students from the Thai Cultural and Fine Arts Institute of Chicago (TCFAI). This high-art form of masked dance was specifically chosen to honor Her Majesty’s royal initiative to preserve and promote Khon as a national heritage.
