Director-General of the Department of International Organizations delivers keynote address at the 5th RSO Border Forum under the Bali Process on People Smuggling, Trafficking in Persons and Related Transnational Crime

On 7 October 2026, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, delivered a keynote address at the 5th RSO (Regional Support Office of the Bali Process) Border Forum titled “From Regional Commitments to Coordinated Action: Thailand’s Role in Advancing Practical Regional Cooperation” at Hotel Pullman Bangkok King Power. The Director-General was joined by other keynote speakers, including H.E. Mr. Pablo Chiho Kang, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, Mr. Ben Reeves, RSO Co-Manager (Australia) and Mr. Alif Suaidi, Senior Executive Advisor, Indonesian Ministry of Immigration. The meeting was attended by frontline officers responsible for immigration and border management from over 30 countries in the region.

The Director-General underscored the importance of regional cooperation in addressing transnational challenges, with the Bali Process as a prime example of how regional cooperation can work in practice. This is actualized through exchanges of views and sharing of information and intelligence on transnational issues and using a multi-stakeholder approach that promotes comprehensive perspectives in responding to challenges and finding solutions, as well as having an ecosystem that supports regional cooperation. The Director-General also reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to working with all partners to address transnational crimes, including issues related to online scams.
