On 11 October 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, participated in the “Bloomberg Invest Bangkok: Growth in an Age of Turbulence” roundtable discussion, jointly organised by Bangkok Bank and Bloomberg. The event provided an opportunity to exchange views with leading private sector executives on global and regional developments, as well as emerging opportunities and challenges affecting the global economy and investment. The event was held on the sidelines of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group (IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings 2026), hosted by Thailand from 12 to 16 October 2026 in Bangkok.

The Deputy Prime Minister underscored the importance of adapting to global uncertainties and challenges to foster sustainable and inclusive economic growth. He highlighted that the global economy would continue to gravitate towards the Asia-Pacific region, while ASEAN would remain one of the world's most economically dynamic and geopolitically stable regions. To capitalise on these opportunities, ASEAN must accelerate regional economic integration, digital transformation, and cooperation on clean energy and energy security, all of which require close collaboration between the public and private sectors. For its part, Thailand remains committed to pursuing continuous reforms, particularly through its efforts to accede to the OECD, with a view to enhancing its competitiveness and strengthening economic resilience. The Deputy Prime Minister further emphasised that regional cooperation and collective efforts would be key to turning challenges into opportunities.
