On 18 July 2025, Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mrs. Marie Claire Mukasine, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to the Kingdom of Thailand, with residence in Tokyo, who paid a courtesy call during her visit to Thailand to present the Letter of Credence to His Majesty the King and officially assume her role as the Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to the Kingdom of Thailand.

The Director-General congratulated the Rwandan Ambassador on this important occasion. Both sides discussed on bilateral trade and investment promotion, the forthcoming Colours of Africa 2025 event to raise public awareness on Thai-African relations, the well-being of Rwandan prisoners and detainees in Thailand, as well as exchanged views on the security situation in the East African region. The Ambassador expressed her appreciation for Thailand’s support in the repatriation of 10 Rwandan nationals trapped in transboundary crime from Thailand’s neighboring country and the arrangement for a courtesy call on the Minister of Justice during this visit to Thailand.
