In the afternoon of 24 May 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, invited H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, together with H.E. Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, H.E. Mrs. Suphajee Suthumpun, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, H.E. Mr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and H.E. Ms. Sabida Thaised, Minister of Culture, to provide policy directions and exchange views on advancing government policies in the context of Europe with Ambassadors, Consuls-General, Chargé d’affaires, and representatives of Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates - General from 24 countries in Europe in Paris, the French Republic. Also in attendance were senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Deputy Prime Minister Sihasak introduced the session by underscoring the readiness of Ambassadors, Consuls-General, Chargé d’affaires, and representatives of Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates-General in Europe to receive and implement government policies in advancing relations with the countries under their responsibility for the benefit of Thais and the country. They also stand ready to create opportunities that elevate Thailand’s status and place the country on the radar of the European Union and advance long-term planning to promote bilateral relations for Thailand’s benefit. The Prime Minister underscored the vast potential of all officials serving as representatives of Thailand to demonstrate Thailand’s readiness in various areas to the international community. He also encouraged adapting international best practices to further Thailand's development and utilizing partnerships with other countries to effectively address challenges arising from a rapidly evolving world. The Prime Minister pointed to support and collaboration from friendly countries, especially in the security and economic dimensions, while noting that Thailand's political stability, skilled workforce, resilient systems and internationally - standardized infrastructure make it an attractive destination for foreign investment and business expansion. He also reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to maintain and enhance relations with countries in Europe amidst the current challenges, as well as to continue cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, including combating transnational crime, which has received recognition and appreciation from partner countries.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance underscored the importance of turning global crises into opportunities, especially through the energy transition to support future industries. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to negotiate free trade agreements (FTAs) with other countries and organizations, including the European Union, while the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation emphasized the need to promote clean and renewable energy as well as to strengthen Thailand’s capabilities in utilizing artificial intelligence (AI). The Minister of Culture highlighted ongoing efforts to nominate the traditional Thai costume to be included on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as part of promoting Thailand's valuable cultural heritage.

The representatives, Ambassadors and Consuls-General shared their distinct approaches to advancing diplomacy for the modern era in all dimensions of relations with European countries; namely, security, the economy, science, technology and innovation, and culture, based on the policy directions provided by the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, and the Ministers present in the Meeting.
