On 29 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with H.E. Ms. Iruthisham Adam, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives.

The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated Ms. Adam on her appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives. Both sides discussed ways to promote bilateral relations between Thailand and the Maldives, particularly through high-level exchanges, the promotion of trade, investment and tourism, people-to-people connection, cooperation in the healthcare sector, and multilateral cooperation. They also exchanged views on challenges in the current global situation, including food and energy security, freedom of navigation, and online scams.
