On 17 March 2026, H.E. Mrs. Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, chaired a meeting to discuss the draft Strategy on Science, Research and Innovation (SRI) Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was attended by representatives from relevant agencies, including the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation; the National Innovation Agency (NIA); the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI); the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI); and the Research University Network (RUN).

The meeting aimed to gather views and recommendations on the draft Strategy on Science, Research, and Innovation Diplomacy developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will serve as a framework for supporting the country’s development in science, research, and innovation, enhancing national competitiveness, and strengthening Thailand’s role on the international stage to be more prominent amidst geopolitical and geoeconomic uncertainties. The meeting also discussed ways to promote collaboration among relevant agencies in order to ensure aligned implementation, leading to tangible outcomes.
