Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Ambassador of Spain to Thailand

On 11 February 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Felipe de la Morena Casado, Ambassador of Spain to Thailand.

Both sides welcomed the steady strengthening and continued progress of Thailand - Spain relations in recent years and expressed confidence in the positive trajectory of cooperation in the future. The Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for the continued development of the Thailand - Spain Forum, which the Ambassador co-initiated and is currently under preparation for its fourth session, to be held in conjunction with the eighth Thailand - Spain Political Consultations in Spain. The Foreign Minister also conveyed his intention to visit Spain to participate in the said Forum.

The Ambassador provided an overview of bilateral relations over the past year, highlighting significant progress in trade and investment, defence cooperation, and tourism. In addition, both sides also exchanged views on regional developments, including the elections in Myanmar and the Thailand - Cambodia border situation.
