On 26 February 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with the President and Executive Members of the European Association for Business and Commerce (EABC), an organization representing European private sector companies operating and investing in Thailand.
The Foreign Minister reaffirmed Thailand’s policy continuity and stability in economic and business development and underscored the Ministry’s proactive economic diplomacy in advancing the country’s economic potential amid a complex and evolving geopolitical landscape. He emphasized the Government’s commitment to fostering a stable, predictable, and competitive investment environment. The EABC representatives conveyed their expectations regarding the ongoing negotiations for the Thailand - EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and the importance of regulatory reform. They also expressed confidence in the Thai Government’s economic policies and the country’s competitiveness as a regional business hub.
Both sides exchanged views on enhancing trade and investment standards and discussed Thailand’s progress toward accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). They highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation in human capital development, skills mobility, research, and innovation, which are essential to Thailand’s transition toward a digital and green economy. They also reaffirmed the shared commitment of Thailand and the European business community to deepen economic partnership and promote sustainable growth.
