On 18 July 2025, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, together with H.E. Mrs. Astrid Emilie Helle, Ambassador of Norway to Thailand, Assistant Professor Krit Won-in, Vice President for Innovations and Social Missions, Kasetsart Univerity, and Ms. Nantiya Pitakwongdeengam, Managing Director of Yara Thailand, jointly held a press conference to officially launch the Agri-Hackathon under the theme "Farming the Future: Advancing Thai Agriculture through Innovation" at the Ministry.

The Agri-Hackathon is part of celebrations marking the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Norway. The competition is open to 2nd to 4th year undergraduate students across Thailand. Teams of 3 - 5 members are invited to develop innovative, technology-driven solutions that promote sustainable and resilient agriculture in Thailand addressing one of the following three themes:
(1) People – Advancing agriculture for food security and human well-being;
(2) Planet – Promoting environmentally sustainable farming; and
(3) Prosperity – Enhancing agricultural supply chains for economic resilience and growth.

Applications are open from 15 July - 15 August 2025. Fifteen teams will be selected and invited to a 3-day 2-night workshop and pitching competition, to be held from 12 - 14 September 2025 at the Faculty of Agriculture, Kasetsart University, Bangkhen Campus.
