On 12 December 2024, H.E. Dr. Laliwan Kanchanachari, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the Reception on the Occasion of the Jamhuri Day (Independence Day) of the Republic of Kenya as the guest of honor. The event was hosted by H.E. Mr. Lindsay Kimwole Kiptiness, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to the Kingdom of Thailand.

The Vice Minister, in her remarks, extended best wishes to the Republic of Kenya and its people on the occasion of Kenya's Jamhuri Day. She highlighted recent significant developments in the bilateral relationship between Thailand and Kenya, particularly the recent visit to Thailand of Mr. Eliud Kipchoge, a world renowned Kenyan marathoner, who was granted a royal audience with Their Majesties the King and Queen on 28 November 2024 and joined the Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2024 on 1 December 2024, as well as the resumption of Kenya Airways non-stop flights between Nairobi and Bangkok since November last year.
