The evening brought together prominent food bloggers, tourism influencers, local media, members of the hotel and hospitality Industries, travel and tourism associations, the Kolkata consular corps and friends of Thailand. Guests were welcomed into a beautifully refined setting where they enjoyed a specially curated five-course Thai fine dining experience, masterfully crafted by Chef Phinyaphat Arwatthana (Chef Yhin) and her team, flown in from Hyatt Phuket for this special event.
The menu showcased a series of exquisite Thai cuisine with a thoughtful selection of dishes including Crispy Spring Roll & Khao Tang, Pomelo and Prawn Salad, Thai Coconut Curry Noodle Soup (Khao Soi), Hot & Sour Soup with Prawns (Tom Yum Goong), Thai Red Curry with Rice Berry, and a decadent Thai Tea Mousse Tart for dessert.
In her welcome address, Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, captured the spirit of the evening by stating, “The heart of West Bengal beats in perfect harmony with the spirit of Thailand. Let’s celebrate our friendship through what we love most—food! But not just any food—this is food that speaks to your soul: delicious, heartwarming, and crafted with love and passion by our talented Thai chef, who has flown in especially from Hyatt Phuket for this event.” She went on to emphasize that Thailand is more than just a destination—it is a feeling—and invited guests to experience that essence through each flavor, aroma, and heartfelt bite of Thailand’s culinary soul. Consul-General Siriporn also underlined the enduring friendship between Thailand and India, describing cuisine as a powerful cultural bridge that connects people and traditions across borders. She warmly encouraged attendees to visit Thailand and continue exploring its rich culinary and cultural offerings.
The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata extended its deepest gratitude to Hyatt Regency Kolkata and all its partners whose dedicated support ensured the festival’s resounding success. Special thanks were given to Thai Airways International Public Co., Ltd., CPF (India) Pvt. Ltd., and The Telegraph-T2 for their invaluable contributions in making the event a true celebration of friendship, culture, and shared passion for fine cuisine.
