On 19 May 2025, His Excellency Mr. Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, will pay his first official visit to Thailand. The visit coincides with the celebration of the 75^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Indonesia this year.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia will have a bilateral meeting with Her Excellency Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, to discuss the future direction of bilateral relations between Thailand and Indonesia, such as political and security cooperation, promotion of trade and investment, food security, tourism, education, and people-to-people exchange. Both leaders will also discuss ways to advance ASEAN cooperation amidst global economic and political uncertainties.

In addition, both leaders will also announce the elevation of relations between Thailand and Indonesia to Strategic Partnership.
