On 22 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with New Zealand, on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings in Manila, the Philippines.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the ASEAN - New Zealand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), established in 2025, to strengthen an open, inclusive, and rules-based regional architecture.They agreed to strengthen cooperation to promote regional peace and security, particularly maritime security and combatting transnational crime, including online scams. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the energy crisis, the situation in the Middle East and Myanmar.

Thailand underscored the importance of enhancing economic cooperation to address geopolitical uncertainties, particularly in the areas of energy security, resilient supply chains, trade and investment, and food security. In addition, both sides agreed to deepen socio-cultural cooperation, especially the green agenda, including carbon markets, green and renewable energy, education, disaster management, the creative economy and cooperation in the Mekong Subregion. The meeting discussed how to further strengthen cooperation through the ASEAN - New Zealand Vision Fund, launched in July 2026.
