On 7 August 2026, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, participated as a speaker in the academic seminar entitled “The Rule of Law, Justice, and Human Dignity: Honouring and Advancing the Legacy of H.R.H. Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluang Rajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita in the Administration of Justice,” organized by the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University. The event was held in observance of Rapee Day, commemorated annually on 7 August in remembrance of H.R.H. Prince Rapee Phattanasak, Kromluang Ratchaburi Direkrit, the “Father of Thai Law.”

The seminar was organized in honour of H.R.H. Princess Bajrakitiyabha’s contributions in the administration of justice and the rule of law, and to discuss ways to carry forward Her Royal Highness‘ works. The seminar comprised special keynote addresses by Professor Dr. Surasak Likasitwatanakul, Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University, and Mrs. Pongsawat Neelayothin, former Permanent Secretary for Justice.

In the panel discussion, the Director-General highlighted the contributions of H.R.H. Princess Bajrakitiyabha, both as a lawyer and a diplomat, to advancing the rule of law, human rights and the administration of justice at the international level. Her Royal Highness’ initiative to develop the United Nations Rules for the Treatment of Women Prisoners and Non-custodial Measures for Women Offenders, or the “Bangkok Rules,” has significantly contributed to the strengthening of Thailand’s role and international recognition in the fields of the rule of law, criminal justice and human rights.

The panel discussion comprised the following speakers: Director-General of the Department of International Organizations; Mr. Thanachai Sundaravej, Senior Manager, Social Partnership and Public Engagement, Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ); Ms. Santanee Ditsayabut, Senior Expert Public Prosecutor and former Director of the Secretariat Office of Nitivajra Institute, Office of the Attorney General; and Assistant Professor Dr. Ronnakorn Bunmee, Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University. The discussion was moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Yada Dejchai Tianprasit, Director of the Center for Criminal Law and Criminology, Faculty of Law, Thammasat University.
