On 5 August 2026, Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Alexander Micovcin, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the Kingdom of Thailand.

Both sides discussed preparations for the forthcoming visit to Thailand by H.E. Mr. Juraj Blanár, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, and Mrs. Martina Šimkovičová, Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic, as well as the possibility of organising the Thai-Slovak Business Forum in October 2026. In addition, both sides exchanged views on ways to further strengthen relations between Thailand and the Slovak Republic in areas of mutual interest.
