On 6 June 2025, from 17.00 - 18.00 hrs., H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Korea, held discussions with Mr. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), along with representatives from the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), Defence Technology Institute (DTI), Office of Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), and Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), to promote investment cooperation between Thailand and the Republic of Korea.
The key points discussed were as follows:
1. Promotion of Investment Between Thailand and the Republic of Korea
- The Ambassador encouraged Thai companies to explore trade and investment opportunities with South Korean partners, particularly in industries where Thailand has high potential.
- The Board of Investment (BOI) expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Royal Thai Embassy in inviting and attracting South Korean investors to invest in Thailand, especially in key industries such as defense, industrial estate startups, automotive, and banking.
2. Ignite Thailand-Korea Business Forum
- The Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul, in partnership with BOI, IEAT, DTI, EEC and TCEB as well as Korea Herald Media Group and Daewoo E&C, is prepared to co-host the Ignite Thailand-Korea Business Forum, Bangkok in November 2025. This forum aims to further promote trade and investment between Thailand and the Republic of Korea and to enhance confidence among South Korean businesses and investors. The forum will to invite senior executives from conglomerates in the Republic of Korea.
